EMCC Wellness Center COVID-19 Guidelines

  • Face-coverings are required at all times unless you are at your individual workout station.
  • Upon entering the Wellness Center, all patrons will be required to check their temperature. Anyone with a temperature greater than 100.4 will not be allowed to stay (students must report to the Dean of Students).
  • Capacity for this facility is limited to 10 people.
  • Maximum workout time is limited to 1 hour.
  • Please sanitize your hands as you enter and before you leave the facility.
  • Please use only 1 piece of equipment at a time (no supersets or circuits).
  • Sanitize the equipment before and after use.
  • Please maintain social distancing while in the facility, staying 6 feet from one another.
  • Water fountain lip dispenser will not be operable; please bring your own water bottle.
  • Towels will not be provided; please bring your own towel.
  • Due to safe distancing issues, some equipment access has been modified or restricted.

      • Face-coverings are required at all times unless you are at your individual workout station.
      • You must check-in with the Wellness Center Staff at the desk every time you enter the facility. Student ID is required.
      • Please maintain social distancing while in the facility, staying 6 feet from one another.
      • No tobacco, drugs, or illegal substances of any kind are allowed in the facility or on grounds.
      • You are expected to act in a courteous and respectful manner. You are required to follow the instructions of the Wellness Center staff at all times. Profanity, yelling, rude or boisterous behavior will not be tolerated.
      • The Wellness Center staff will determine the music selection on the center's sound system. Personal headsets or earbuds are welcome as long as the volume is not disruptive to others. No personal boom boxes, blue tooth speakers, or stereos allowed.
      • Food is not allowed in the facility or in programs. Closed beverage containers are permitted. No glass containers are allowed.
      • Please wipe down the equipment before and after use.
      • No equipment is to be moved from its designated area and may not be taken out of the Wellness Center.
      • Use of a towel while working out is highly recommended. We do not provide towels at this time. Please bring your own.
      • Athletic Attire must be worn to use the Wellness Center.
      • Closed-toe shoes appropriate for exercise must be worn at all times. Sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts or exercise pants. No cut-off jeans, shorts, t-shirts or any clothing that reveals your midriff or undergarments. 
      • Weight plates are not to be leaned against equipment stands and machines.
      • After utilizing equipment, strip bars and return plates and dumbbells to proper storage areas.
      • Dumbbells and weight plates cannot be dropped on the floor for any reason.
      • Please perform exercises with weight that you can safely lift without the need for spotting or contact with others.
      • Wellness Center participants should report all equipment malfunctions, personal injuries, and specific concerns immediately to the staff.
      • It is the member's responsibility to follow posted rules. Please ask the staff on duty if you have any questions or need assistance.
      • The Wellness Center staff is not responsible for the storage of the users' valuables.
      • Users are not allowed to leave bags or backpacks in the workout area. All personal belongings should be left in the lockers.
      • Use of the Wellness Center is considered a privilege. Individuals who do not comply with the established policies will be asked to leave and may have their membership revoked.
