EMCC women's basketball adds another pair of signees
SCOOBA, Miss. – Local Kemper County High School product RoTasha Windom and Shavantis Thomas of Oxford High School have become the latest additions to the East Mississippi women’s basketball program.  The signings were announced Thursday by Lady Lions head coach Sharon Thompson.

A 5-foot-11 forward, Windom averaged 8.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.4 blocks and 2.3 steals per outing as a repeat All-District 5-2A performer this past season for head coach Johnny Rush’s Class 2A state tournament runners-up.  Shooting 53 percent from the field and with 10 double-doubles to her credit as a senior, Windom’s standout performance of the season came against New Site in the semifinals of the state tournament.  In being selected to the all-tournament team, she totaled 26 points, 21 rebounds, eight blocks and five steals in KCHS’s 69-65 overtime triumph over New Site.  As a three-year starter for Kemper County, Windom helped lead the Lady Wildcats to a composite record of 77-29 dating back to the 2006-07 campaign.

Thomas, also a 5-foot-11 forward, averaged 7.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest for head coach Shane Stone’s 22-8 Lady Chargers at Oxford High School this past year.  Before transferring back to Oxford a year ago, Thomas spent her sophomore and junior years at Water Valley High School.

Windom and Thomas join previously announced EMCC women’s basketball signees Keyosha Robinson of Southeast Lauderdale High School, Weir High School’s Alvionna Knox, and teammates Nashedra Barry and Natalie Tate of Columbus High School.
