The EMCC Lions and Lady Lions will preview the upcoming 2012-13 basketball season with Monday’s “Late Night with the Lions” event on the Scooba campus. Admission is free to the 9 p.m. event set for EMCC’s Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.

Along with player introductions for head coach Sharon Thompson’s Lady Lions club and head coach Mark White’s eighth-ranked Lions squad, Monday’s 90-minute hoops preview is also set to feature a dunk contest involving members of the EMCC men’s team as well as three-point shooting contests by both squads.  The preseason event is scheduled to conclude with separate intra-squad scrimmages by both EMCC basketball teams.

The East Mississippi basketball teams will officially tip off the 2012-13 regular season by playing host to Georgia Highlands College on Thursday, Nov. 1 on the Scooba campus.  EMCC will then entertain Meridian Community College a week later on Thursday, Nov. 8.  Both upcoming home basketball doubleheaders are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. with women’s action followed by 7:30 p.m. men’s contests.
