ImageSCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College’s annual summer athletic camps will keep things busy on and off the Scooba campus this summer.  During the months of June and July, EMCC will be offering athletic camps for football, women’s basketball, softball and baseball. 

The Lady Lions Basketball Camp will tip off EMCC’s summer athletic camp activity Monday, June 18 with the start of a three-day camp (June 18-20) on the Scooba campus.  Available for all school-aged children, the EMCC girls’ basketball camp will take place from 1-4 p.m. each afternoon at EMCC’s Keyes T. Sullivan-Windham Field, the home of the NJCAA National Champion EMCC Lions football team, will stay busy this summer with a pair of football camps taking place in Scooba.  The reigning national and state junior college football champions will first offer a 7-on-7 Passing Camp on Wednesday, June 20 with registration set to begin at 9 a.m.  EMCC is also slated to conduct a Lineman Camp, June 26-28, for student-athletes entering grades 9-12.  Please contact EMCC assistant football coaches Clifton Collins (662-476-5129) or Marcus Wood (662-476-5131) for additional information on East Mississippi’s 7-on-7 Passing Camp.  Lineman Camp inquiries can be directed to EMCC head football coach Buddy Stephens (662-476-5128) or associate head coach William Jones (662-476-5132).


EMCC’s Lady Lions Softball Camp will be held June 22-23, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days, at the Sammie Davidson Sports Complex in Meridian.  Available for children entering grades 1-12, campers will be grouped according to age and skill level.  With registration beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 22, the registration fee is $60 per camper.  Team rates are also available.  Additional information on the Lady Lions Softball Camp can be obtained by contacting EMCC head softball coach Kate Neely (662-476-5043 and This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or assistant coach Casey Finch (662-476-5033 and This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).


Directed by head coach Chris Rose, the EMCC baseball coaching staff is slated to hold summer camps on the Scooba campus as well as in Columbus during the month of July for youths between the ages 7-14.  On campus at EMCC’s Gerald Poole Field, the Lions will offer a three-day (July 2-4) All Skills Camp at a cost of $65 per camper.  An Elite Hitting/Pitching Camp will follow on July 5-6 at a cost $115.  With a savings of $40, a combo package is also available for those campers interested in participating in both baseball camps being held in Scooba.

Later in the month of July, the EMCC baseball staff, including Lions assistant coach and former University of Alabama head baseball coach Jim Wells, will be at Propst Park in Columbus to conduct another three-day (July 18-20) All Skills Camp at a cost of $75 per camper.  The Lions will close out the month (July 30-31) in Columbus with another Elite Hitting/Pitching Camp at a cost of $125.  Once again, a discounted combo package will offer a $50 savings to anyone interested in taking part in both baseball camps in Columbus.  All baseball camps will take place during the morning hours (9 a.m.-noon) with registration and check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Additional information on any of the Lions Baseball Camps is available by contacting EMCC head baseball coach Chris Rose (662-476-5343 and This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or assistant coach Eric House (662-476-5067 and This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
