|EMCC's national championship season to be highlighted this weekend on WCBI-TV and My MS|
SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College sports fans will have an opportunity to relive some of the memories of the Lions’ national championship football season this weekend with the airing of a half-hour special on WCBI-TV and My MS. “EMCC: The Road to History” is set to air Saturday at 5 p.m. on WCBI-TV and again Sunday at 10 p.m. on My MS.
The 30-minute program, produced by EMCC media specialist Derek Cody, will contain game highlights spanning the Lions’ memorable stadium-opening home victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast CC back on Sept. 1 through the team’s history-making El Toro Bowl triumph over previously unbeaten Arizona Western College two weeks ago in the NJCAA Football Championship Game played in Yuma, Ariz. Interviews with EMCC players, coaches and school officials will also be featured on the special production.
During the upcoming holidays, “EMCC: The Road to History” is also scheduled to air Saturday, Dec. 24, at 2 p.m. on My MS and again on Sunday, Jan. 1, at 11 p.m. on WCBI-TV.
In addition, the full replay of East Mississippi’s historic 55-47 El Toro Bowl win over Arizona Western for the 2011 NJCAA Football Championship is slated to air on Saturday, Dec. 31, at noon on My MS and again the following Saturday (Jan. 7) at 11 p.m. on WCBI-TV.
