West Point Standout Signs With EMCC Print E-mail

The women’s soccer program at East Mississippi Community College looked to the future Wednesday as next season’s first new recruit signed with the Lions during a ceremony at West Point High School. Standout Alex Shelton is shown with WPHS coach Casey Welch, seated, and EMCC coach Marcille McLendon. The daughter of Elizabeth Stephens, Shelton will play forward at EMCC and could also see action as a member of the softball team. “We are really excited to have Alex join the EMCC family,” McLendon said. “She is not only on outstanding soccer player, but a great young woman.” The EMCC men’s and women’s soccer programs will hold try-outs on Saturday, Feb. 23.
