With a current streak of three consecutive MACJC State Playoff appearances to their credit, head coach Buddy Stephens’ EMCC Lions will debut their new $4.7 million 5,000-seat football facility by taking on the reigning MACJC state champions of Mississippi Gulf Coast CC on Thursday, Sept. 1. Kickoff for EMCC’s season opener, featuring the past two junior college state football champions, is set for 7 p.m., following a 6:30 p.m. opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event. East Mississippi’s 2011 home football slate also features MACJC North Division contests against Itawamba (Sept. 22), Coahoma (Sept. 29) and Mississippi Delta (Oct. 22-Homecoming) on the Scooba campus. |
