SCOOBA – Due to Friday’s heavy rains and resulting wet field conditions, the starting time for Saturday’s key MACJC North Division baseball doubleheader between home-standing East Mississippi Community College and Holmes CC has been pushed back two hours to 5 p.m. at EMCC’s Gerald Poole Field.
Originally scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch on the Scooba campus, Saturday’s twinbill between third-place EMCC and front-running Holmes will feature a pair of seven-inning contests. With two weeks remaining in the regular-season junior college baseball schedule, head coach Chris Rose’s resurgent EMCC Lions are currently tied with Itawamba for the No. 3 spot in the divisional standings with identical 10-6 league marks. At 12-4 and atop the MACJC’s North Division standings, the Holmes Bulldogs presently hold a one-game lead over second-place Northwest Mississippi. |
