SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College will be offering summer athletic camps for football, women’s basketball and softball on the Scooba campus.

With camp action beginning June 21-23 at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum on the Scooba campus, EMCC’s Lady Lion Basketball Camp, under the direction of EMCC head women’s coach Sharon Thompson, will again be divided into two age divisions.  Camp for youngsters entering eighth grade and lower is slated to take place from 9 a.m. until noon each of the three days.  Camp for teenagers entering grades 9-12 is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. all three days.  For more information on this summer’s EMCC Lady Lion Basketball Camp, contact the East Mississippi women’s basketball office at 662-476-5140.

The gridiron will also stay busy at East Mississippi this summer with a pair of football camps taking place in Scooba.  The reigning state football champion EMCC Lions will first offer a 7-on-7 Passing Camp on Wednesday, June 23 at Sullivan-Windham Field.  Registration is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.  The Lions are also set to conduct a Lineman Camp, June 29-July 1, for student-athletes entering grades 9-12.  Contact East Mississippi assistant football coaches Clifton Collins (662-476-5129) or Marcus Wood (662-476-5131) for additional information on EMCC’s 7-on-7 Passing Camp.  Lineman Camp inquiries should be directed to EMCC head football coach Buddy Stephens (662-476-5128) or associate head coach William Jones (662-476-5132).

Fresh from a second straight state tournament appearance under the guidance of head coach Kate Neely and assistant coach Casey Finch, EMCC’s softball staff will conduct a two-day camp, June 21-22, on the Scooba campus.  Available for children entering grades 2-12, the Lady Lion Softball Camp will feature an offensive skills session the morning of the first day followed by an afternoon defensive skills session.  The second day of camp will include an all-skills morning session and a pitching-catching session during the afternoon.  Additional information on the Lady Lion Softball Camp can be obtained by calling the EMCC softball office at 662-476-5043 or 662-476-5033.
