| Choctaw Central's Sydney Tubby signs with EMCC Softball |

.jpg "Image") All-district softball performer Sydney Tubby of Choctaw Central High School has become the latest signee for head coach Kate Neely’s EMCC Lady Lions. A three-year starter for the Lady Warriors, Tubby started as a catcher this past season after having played the previous two years at third base. As a senior, Tubby ranked second on the team in hitting at .436 with two doubles and a pair of triples to earn all-district honors by a vote of the head coaches. She was also named the Lady Warriors’ Defensive MVP this past year in helping lead head coach Mike Luke’s 2009 CCHS squad to the program’s first playoff appearance in five years with a 6-8 overall record. Tubby joins previously announced EMCC softball signees Nashedra Barry (Columbus HS), Leigh Ellen Barefield (Neshoba Central HS), Shakari Stribling (Meridian HS), J’Quandra Hickman (Meridian HS), Megan Ladner (Poplarville HS), Chelsea Theriot (Poplarville HS), DeShuni Sanders (Hew Hope HS), Mallory Pace (Northeast Lauderdale HS), Justine Jenkins (Caledonia HS), Katie Newman (Oak Hill Academy), Courtney Castleberry (Clarkdale HS), and Celeste Fontenot (Brusly [La.] HS). |
