EMCC baseball team opens four-date home stand Thursday against Delta Print E-mail

The EMCC baseball team opens a four-date home stand Wednesday afternoon by playing host to divisional foe Mississippi Delta at Gerald Poole Field.
SCOOBA, Miss. – The East Mississippi baseball team opens the month of April with a four-date home stand that begins Thursday against North Division foe Mississippi Delta.  Doubleheader action is set to begin at 1 p.m. at EMCC’s Gerald Poole Field.


Coach Tony Montgomery’s Lions will step out of divisional action Saturday by playing host to Jones County in a 2 p.m. twin bill on the Scooba campus.  Coach Kate Neely’s Lady Lion softball team will also be on campus this Saturday when North Division foe Northwest Mississippi visits EMCC for a 1 p.m. softball doubleheader.

The East Mississippi baseball team, now 6-27 overall and 2-8 in division play, will stay at home next week to welcome a pair of North Division opponents to campus.  Entering this week’s action tied for second place in the MACJC’s North Division standings with identical 7-3 league marks, Northwest Mississippi and Northeast Mississippi will provide EMCC’s competition on Tuesday (April 7) and Friday (April 10), respectively, of next week.  Both doubleheaders are set to commence at 1 p.m. at Gerald Poole Field on the Scooba campus.
