The 7,000-seat Salina Bicentennial Center will be the site of this week’s NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament in Kansas. The 24-5 EMCC Lady Lions face undefeated Walters State Wednesday at noon.
SALINA, Kan. – Fans of East Mississippi’s Lady Lion basketball team will be able to follow EMCC’s progress throughout this week’s NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship in Salina, Kan., via the Internet.

An audio-streamed radio broadcast of every NJCAA tournament game will be available at http://www.ksal.com.  Interested fans will need to click on the “Sports” button on the menu bar located near the top of the page and select “Live Play by Play” from the drop-down menu.

In addition, “Live Stats” from every tournament game will be available online courtesy of the NJCAA and CyberSportsUSA
Ò.  Fans logging onto http://www.cybersportsusa.com/tourney.asp?tc_id=2174 will be able to access up-to-date statistics continuously throughout every game of this week’s tournament.

Once the tournament has tipped off Tuesday at the Salina Bicentennial Center, basketball fans will be able to access and download updated tournament brackets for the remainder of the week by visiting the Bicentennial Center’s website at http://www.bicentennial.org/njcaanationalchampionship.htm.

Making the school’s first NJCAA women’s tournament appearance since earning national runner-up honors in 1978, head coach Sharon Thompson’s 12th-seeded and 24-5 EMCC Lady Lions will tip off tournament play by taking on fifth-seeded and undefeated Walters State Community College at noon CT Wednesday at the 7,000-seat Bicentennial Center.

The five-day tournament will be played using a false double-elimination format.  The winner of Wednesday’s EMCC-WSCC contest will advance to meet the first-round winner between Chipola, Fla. (#4 seed) and Sheridan, Wyo. (#13 seed) on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT.  The losers of the two opening-round games pitting the same four teams will face other Thursday at 2 p.m. CT.
