| EMCC golf team posts second straight third-place finish in Wesson |

WESSON, Miss. – The East Mississippi men’s golf team claimed a second straight third-place finish in this week’s MACJC golf event held at Wolf Hollow Golf Club.
With a two-day total of 602 (297-305), head coach Dale Peay's Lions were tied for first with eventual winner and host Copiah-Lincoln following Sunday's opening-round 297 team score. Co-Lin took team honors with a 7-stroke advantage over Mississippi Gulf Coast (592-599). MGCCC’s Richie Williams captured individual medalist honors with a 4-under-par 140 (74-66) on the par-72, 6,745-yard layout. EMCC was led by freshman Jordan Jamar (72-76) of Bossier City, La., and sophomore Hal Larkin (74-74) of Caledonia, who shared seventh-place honors with scores of 148. Freshman Will Black (74-78--152) of Calhoun City and fellow frosh Garrett Alford (78-77--155) of Brandon tied for 14th and 25th place, respectively. Brandon's James Winter tied for 42nd place with a composite score of 159 (77-82), while freshman Trey Adams of Belmont tied for 20th place (82-72--154) competing as an individual scorer. The Lions will next compete in the MACJC’s fifth spring event, slated to be hosted by Northeast Mississippi, March 30-31 at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club in Corinth. |
