SCOOBA, Miss. – Three-sport standout Tyler Aldridge of Caledonia High School has signed a national letter-of-intent to play baseball at East Mississippi Community College, as announced Thursday by EMCC baseball coach Tony Montgomery.

A right-handed pitcher and shortstop on the diamond, Aldridge batted a team-high .424 with six home runs and 32 runs batted in last spring for the Confederates.  On the mound, the 5-foot-10, 200-pound all-district performer went 8-2 with a 1.49 ERA as a junior for coach Sam Adams’ 20-16 Caledonia ballclub.

Last summer, Aldridge participated for the Mississippi Stars select baseball team that competed in Oklahoma.

A four-year letterman as a quarterback in football, Aldridge most recently played goalkeeper for coach Morgan Mansfield’s CHS soccer team that recorded a school-best 14-5 mark en route to finishing as runners-up at the Class 4A North State championship this past season.
