.jpg "Image") Madison Central’s Ian McAdams (center front) has signed to play golf at EMCC. Rated last summer as the third-ranked high school senior in the Mississippi Junior Golf Association (MJGA), McAdams participated in the prestigious Viking Classic Junior Pro-Am. Along with making the Mississippi Junior Cup Team over the summer, he carded fourth-place finishes at the Clarksdale Qualifier and Forest Country Club Invitational events. In addition, McAdams placed seventh at the Northwood Country Club State Games and finished 23rd at the Mississippi State-hosted Mississippi Boys’ Junior Amateur event. Last spring as a junior, McAdams helped lead coach Todd Beach’s MCHS Jaguars to the district championship en route to a third-place team finish in the Class 5A state tournament. The all-district selection also claimed medalist honors at the EMCC High School Golf Classic by firing a 71. “I am pleased to sign one of the top golfers in the state of Mississippi to go along with our outstanding group of signees from last year,” EMCC’s Peay noted. “I believe Ian can make an immediate impact on our team next year.” During his sophomore campaign at Madison Central, McAdams carded a 2-under-par 70 to win the St. Andrew’s Invitational held at Reunion Country Club. McAdams is the son of Mahlon and Lisa McAdams of Madison. |
