EMCC Baseball is proud to announce that sophomore Tyler Weston has committed to Southern Polytechnic State University. Weston has announced his intention to accept a scholarship and continue his baseball career at Southern Tech. Weston a redshirt last year for the lions is expected to start at shortstop this upcoming year along with hitting at the top of order. Southern Tech is an NAIA school out of Marietta, GA. They finished 14th in the nation, advanced to the national tournament regional, and broke the school record with 47 wins. Head Coach Tony Montgomery had this to say about Weston’s commitment, “I’m extremely excited for Tyler and his family. Tyler has battled through some tough adversity with having to take a medical redshirt last year. Tyler was high caliber recruit coming out of high school and we are looking forward to him playing at a high level for us and in his future. Southern Tech is high caliber program, and I’m happy that I know Tyler will continue at a top notch level of baseball and get a degree.
